This particular section of the Bible was pivotal for me personally. As I read through the Psalms and the Proverbs paying close attention to what was being said about the statutes, commandments, judgments, ordinances, and testimonies of HFHI I noticed that what the Bible says is is stark opposition to what I have heard coming out of the pulpit for years.
There was a certain night where I had gone to bed and my mind was processing everything I had been reading. In my dream the Hebrew passages of the Psalms were surrounding me. They speed past me like sturdy cedars in my peripheral vision as I zoomed along a path on a bicycle through the forest.
I dreamed of a scroll with Hebrew writing on it. At first I couldn't read what was written until an angel pointed to the scroll which was now engulfed in a swirling tornado. The Hebrew was lifting off the scroll and I could read it. The words were now in English and it was everything I had been reading in the Psalms. What troubled me was what the passages say about the "law" and the stark difference that I had heard repeatedly throughout my life about what Messiah's role was; and, how the law no longer held sway over the Christian because we are no longer "under the law" (Romans 6:14; Galatians 5:18).
Something was wrong either the Psalmist was wrong; and the Pastors whom I had heard teach about Paul and Galatians was right; or the Psalmist is right and the Pastors were wrong about their understanding about what Paul teaches. Some go so far as to accuse Paul of being a false teacher. In order to properly understand Paul it is VITAL that we understand everything the TaNaK says about the Torah of Yahweh. Because Yahweh doesn't change what HE says must remain resolute; it must be firmly settled in the mind of the believer that what HE says He means.
Messiah Himself refers to the Psalms as scripture so then let us examine what it says about the Torah and what our response to it should be.

Consider deeply that the opposite of blessed is cursed; and if you do not meditate in it
then you are rejecting it.

David is called a "man after God's own heart"
in Acts 13:22 because he chose to do God's will. Is it God's will that we be
obedient or disobedient? If God doesn't change, then sin STILL makes him angry.
If God doesn't change, then His definition of sin is STILL what Moses gave us
in the Torah.
In Psalm 51 we see David lamenting his sin with
Bathsheba. What does he say in verse 12-13?
"Restore to me the joy of salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will
teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will be converted to You.
"Restore to me the joy of salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will
teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will be converted to You.
Were you aware that the term "transgressors"
means "to break away, quarrel, trespass, apostatize, offend, rebel,
revolt? When we sin we are in a state of apostasy.
The departure from Torah IS apostasy.
If you are waiting to see the "great
apostasy" I tell you the truth it is all around you, and has been going on
for a very long, long, long time.
Apparently David knew something about conversion. Were
you aware what the Psalms says the Law does? It converts your soul. Let's see
what else David as to say about the Law besides what was already written in the
Psalms.
150. (Psalm 119:97)

151. (Psalm 119:126) Can you see that the "they" are
those who disregard the Torah? Can you see that David believed we should DESIRE

Therefore I love Your commandments more than find gold, yes, than fine gold."
"It is time for you to act, O LORD, For they have regarded Your lawH8451 as void.
Therefore I love Your commandments more than find gold, yes, than fine gold."
In
Hebrew it is rendered a little differently:

cause to cease, X clean, defeat, disannul, disappoint, dissolve, divide, make of
none effect, fail, frustrate, bring (come) to nought, X utterly, make void.
Does your doctrine indicate that Messiah "causes to cease" the Law and the
Prophets? Does your doctrine "cast off" the Torah and say "that
isn't for me, it's for the Jew?" Does your doctrine teach that Messiah
"freed" you from the law? Does your doctrine indicate that Torah
isn't necessary for you? If so...you might find you are "making void" the Law in your own life.
If so I assert you are MISUNDERSTANDING PAUL in a way that is detrimental to
your own spiritual health.
