WHAT DOES THE PROPHET JEREMIAH
SAY ABOUT THE LAW?
SAY ABOUT THE LAW?
177. (Jeremiah 2:8):
The
priest did not say, ‘Where is the Lord?’ And those who handle the lawH8451 did not
know
Me; The rulers also transgressed against Me; The prophets prophesied by Baal,
And
walked after things that do not profit.
H8452 (התורה : Torah) G3551 (νομου : nomou)
178. (Jeremiah 6:19):
Hear,
O earth! Behold, I will certainly bring calamity on this people— The fruit of
their
thoughts,
Because they have not heeded My words Nor My lawH8451,
but rejected it.
H8451
(ותורתי : Torah) G3551
(νομον : nomon)
179. (Jeremiah
8:8-9):
“How
can you say, ‘We are wise, And the lawH8451
of the Lord is with us’? Look, the
false
pen of the scribe certainly works falsehood. 9 The wise men are
ashamed, They are
dismayed
and taken. Behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord; So what wisdom
do
they have?
H8451 (ותורת : Torah) G3551 (νομος : nomos)
180. (Jeremiah 9:13):
12
Who is the wise man who may understand this? And who is he to
whom the mouth of
the
LORD has spoken, that he may declare it? Why does the land perish and burn
up like
a
wilderness, so that no one can pass through? 13 And the LORD said,
“Because they
have
forsaken My lawH8451 which I set before them, and have not obeyed My voice, nor
walked
according to it, 14 but they have walked according to the dictates
of their own
hearts
and after the Baals which their fathers taught them,” therefore thus says the
LORD
of
hosts, the God of Israel: "Behold, I will feed them, this people, with
wormwood, and
give
them water of gall to drink. I will scatter them also among the Gentiles, whom
neither
they nor their fathers have known. And I will send a sword after them until I
have
consumed
them."
H8451 (תורתי : Torah) G3551 (νομον : nomon)
181. (Jeremiah
16:10-12):
10
“And it shall be, when you show this people all these words, and they say to
you,
‘Why
has the Lord pronounced all this great disaster against us? Or what is our
iniquity?
Or
what is our sin that we have committed against the Lord our God?’ 11Then
you shall
say
to them, ‘Because your fathers have forsaken Me,' says the LORD 'they have
walked
after
other gods and served them and worshipped them, and have forsaken Me and not
kept
My lawH8451. 12And you have done worse than your fathers,
for behold, each one
follows
the dictates of his own evil heart, so that no one listen to Me.
H8451 (תורתי : Torah) G3551 (νομον : nomon)
182. (Jeremiah
26:3-6):
3
Perhaps everyone will listen and turn from his evil way, that I may relent
concerning the
calamity
which I purpose to bring on them because of the evil of their doings.’ 4 And
you
shall
say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord: “If you will not listen to Me, to walk in
My lawH8451 which I have set before you, 5 to heed the
words of My servants the prophets
whom
I sent to you, both rising up early and sending them (but you have not
heeded),
6
then I will make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse
to all the nations
of
the earth."
H8451 (בתורתי : Torah) G3545
(νομιμοις : nomimois)
183. (Jeremiah
31:31-33):
31
“Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant
with
the
house of Israel and with the house of Judah— 32 not according to the
covenant that I
made
with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them
out of the
land
of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says
the
Lord.
33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house
of Israel after those days,
says
the Lord: I will put My
lawH8451 in their minds, and
write it on their hearts; and I will
be
their God, and they shall be My people."
H8451 (תורתי : Torah) G3551
(νομους : nomous)
184. (Jeremiah
32:22-23):
22
You have given them this land, of which You swore to their fathers to give
them—
“a
land flowing with milk and honey.” 23 And they came in and took
possession of it, but
they
have not obeyed Your voice or walked in Your lawH8451.
They have done nothing of
all
that You commanded them to do; therefore You have caused all this calamity to
come
upon
them."

terms for Torah or conveying "Law" are ABSENT.
Again we find a passage
where the Greek translators failed to used terms equivalent in
meaning
to the Hebrew. The term selected which appear in the LXX fail to direct the
reader
to a complete understanding. The reader is left understanding that "they"
didn't
obey
God's "voice" or His "orders."
185. (Jeremiah
44:9-10):
9
Have you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, the wickedness of the kings
of
Judah,
the wickedness of their wives, your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your
wives,
which they committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
10
They have not been humbled, to this day, nor have they feared; they have not
walked in
My lawH8451 or in My statutes that I set before you and your fathers.’
H8451 (בתורתי : Torah) (προσταγματων) "my orders"
This term is not coded to the strongs.
186. (Jeremiah
44:22-23):
22
So the Lord could no longer bear it, because of the evil of your doings and
because of
the
abominations which you committed. Therefore your land is a desolation, an
astonishment,
a curse, and without an inhabitant, as it is this day. 23
Because you have
burned
incense and because you have sinned against the Lord, and have not obeyed the
voice
of the Lord or walked in His
lawH8451, in His statutes or in His testimonies,
therefore
this calamity has happened to you, as at this day.”
